Sorry, mister. I can fix your car, but it will take a few days for the part to come in. You'll be stuck here.
There's no hotel no more, but you can stay at my Daddy's place. He owns this garage, and he's a pretty decent man. He won't charge you for the room, or the food. His only rule is not to touch his daughters, myself included.
Personally, though... I'm kind of thinking that that rule is made to be broken...
Although I sometimes lapse into a clumsy attempt to write this in a southern accent, this story is drawn from experience with a very small town in North Dakota where one of my parents grew up. There's also a bit of the Farmer's Daughter story in here, except the daughter in this case is a tomboy mechanic with aspirations to experience more in life.
If anyone wants to record this, please feel free to make any changes to this you wish. This could be set anywhere in the world really. Every place has small towns like this here and there. And thankfully, every place has tomboys.
