Hi!
I'm hoping this short, customizable script will help new VAs to give listeners a little sample platter/teaser of the different tones of voice they can do.
Synopsis (Listener perspective): An aloof psychologist needs survey data for a research project, and you volunteer to take their survey. They read you a list of words and phrases and ask you to note down your emotional response to each one. But some of these phrases, and the way they say them, seem more suited to their bedroom instead of their office...
(If VAs are comfortable with it, it might be fun for them to ask their listeners to submit their survey results and get some actual feedback!)
Word count: 435 words including directions
Inclusivity notes: No physical descriptions of speaker or listener.
Sound Effects and Improv: All sound effects are optional. A bit of improv or rephrasing to help your reading feel more natural to you is welcome, and coming up with your own list of terms of endearment (or disparagement, if that's your niche) is encouraged.
Gender changes (and changes of physical descriptions to go with them) are allowed.
Acknowledgments: Thanks to /u/pinktomboy and /u/WildRoseRambles for providing feedback and suggestions!
