Scene 2

Later, 069 and 070 are awakened from their assimilated state but with their memories of life since assimilation removed, and they are interrogated by the Grob Queen about "love." She states that the phenomenon disappears when someone is assimilated, and they want to study it in depth for any advantage that may be gleaned. The Queen brings the couple into a mindscape.

Scene 3

The three are in a mindscape (in this case the bedroom in the house where the couple used to live), in human bodies, so they can have a sex scene. For the denouement, the Queen agrees to send the couple, unassimilated, to Gateway Theta where they can start a life of their own, while the collective integrates the lessons into their hivemind cortex.!<!<
