It's Snowy Saturday!

I'm excited to bring you a story I wrote, from an idea I developed with my good friend /u/alekirser! It's inspired by the classic Holiday story, "A Christmas Carol." Rather than business and swimming pools of coins, this one is more about love, heartbreak, regret, and resolution. It's cute, it's sweet, it's sexy--and emotional as heck, so buckle up! :D

💗Overall summary💗

A man goes through a painful experience of heartbreak, as the one he loved tells him they can't be together anymore. Close to the holidays, he has the ability to move forward and find new love, or love he never knew he felt. Accompanying him on his journey are three spirits: the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and that which is yet to come.

Depending on his choices, he may find a happy ending...

PLOT SPOILERS: "The One That Got Away" isn't necessarily his ex - she's the woman he loved, who passed away. This story is his journey attempting to overcome the grief and come to terms with her death, and to move forward to find new love and happiness in the future.

The One That Got Away

The source of his heartbreak. He met her in university, and was sure he loved her more than anything. However, when this story begins, she tells him a terrible truth: they can't be together anymore.

The Girl Next Door

A playful, yet shy woman that was once his childhood (and best) friend that lived next door. After a miscommunication about their feelings for one another, he left town for university and they lost touch. They may reconnect and discover their care for one another may have been mutual, should he be ready to open his heart to the idea.

The Popular Girl

A forward, affectionate woman that was once a popular cheerleader, and now a co-worker of his. In university, she warned him of possible heartbreak while competing for his heart. After his relationship ended, she feels it's time to swoop in and show how good of a choice she would have been--and still is.

The Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and that which is yet to come

The three ghosts, each whom visit him at night. The first is a practical, helpful spirit that resembles one he recalls, a choice he may regret. The present is a sweet, caring individual that encourages him, and the final is fierce and strong, warning all they visit about the consequences of their actions.
