After a long day of adventuring and a night at the tavern, you finally drag yourself back up to your room...
...but the door is already slightly ajar.
A figure waits inside. To call him a "man" wouldn't be right. You recognize him by sight.
The one the villagers have been calling "the devil Strahd". The fiend. The tormentor.
The Vampire.
And he can't wait to meet you.

September counts as Spooky Season, right? Also, unless algorithms everywhere are lying to me, each one of you is either actively playing Baldur's Gate 3, wishing you were playing it, or are in ignorant denial about the game. Now, try and try as I might, I could not actually get Astarion's voice down. So, I settled for perhaps the 2nd best-known vampire (of the DnD world).
But imo, he's much stronger, and definitely much more my (hopefully your?) type.
If you're not familiar with DnD, don't let that be a turn-off! I wrote/made the whole thing in a way that it fits just fine in a regular medieval, gothic setting.
Sit back, and enjoy this fanged menace, without worrying about some nerdy game I'm obsessed with.
For those of you that are! Say hello to your PC: the human fighter. I had my fans pick out which starting class they wanted, and then let it shape part of the story I made here. Being a long-time DM and even longer player, I have become totally obsessed with DnD.
If the accent makes you cringe, blame r/CurseofStrahd, where I saw too many discussions telling DM's to "just go for it".... So I did. I like to think I didn't do too badly.
Also, whaaaaaat? A FBNVA post that isn't a repost?? Yup! I've finally gotten through pretty much all of my backlog, and am back to my... really slow release schedule. Oops.
