Hey all!
So this is based on a very brief reel I saw on instagram (and I'd link it but I of course am now unable to find it) but it got my creative juices flowing, so here we are. I hope you guys enjoy it!
Synopsis: Listener is on a long overnight bus ride and has been eyeing the person across the aisle. They're cute, but the listener can't tell their gender and is *very* curious if he should hit on them or not. Speaker gets tired of waiting and takes matters into their own hands.
*note* I have tried to be considerate of non-binary/genderfluid/agender individuals' perspectives here, but I am a cisgender male myself and so it's possible I missed something. If so, please do let me know; I'm always open to feedback.
Excerpt:
"I think we've passed the point of shyness. If I'm honest, I was getting bored, so I don't mind the distraction. It's 2 am, you're the only other person on this bus that's awake, and I'm getting sick of staring at my phone. And you're a captive audience. So... like what you see?"
*pause*
"Oh... oh, I get it. You... you're not sure if I'm a boy or a girl, are you?"
*pause*
"Oh, you are hardly the first person to feel that way. You don't know if I'm a boy or a girl, you don't know what... hardware came pre-installed... and you're attracted to me, but you don't know if you should feel guilty about that or not. Awww, poor little homophobe."
*pause*
"Hey, hey... shhh. Don't wake up the old folks. Relax, I'm just teasing you. It's alright to be confused. I take it as a compliment. My great purpose in life is to make people feel things they don't know how to handle."
