For men and women, the act of sex permits their chi to meet and nourish each other, like two rivers merging.

A man is predisposed to have strong Yang energy. It is like a flame...intense and powerful while it lasts, but quick to fade away once its fuel is exhausted.

While a woman more usually has strong Yin. This energy is like the water of a deep lake or river...cooler, heavier and slower to rouse, but almost inexhaustible.

When they meet, the man partakes of the limitless Yin of the woman, and expends his own Yang in exchange. Once it has burned out, the Yang is slow to return, leaving the man exhausted and weakened for a time while the woman may yet be left desiring more.

So it is best for the man to bring the woman to the heights of pleasure several times before he reaches his own peak, so the exchange may enrich both equally.
