Evening, people,

I wanted to challenge myself with a script where some world-building (or at least, explaining) was required but where I still avoided getting clunky, and I think I managed it here, and just around 1000 words no less! The speaker is one of the listener's many owners, because as the title suggests, the listener is the collective property of the entire town. Free use, taken to the extreme.
