Just beyond the borders of your town lied a village that few approached, and no one left. The village was a source of mystery, but it had been around so long that it was often ignored by the inhabitants of the town, in fact, the only time it was mentioned at all was when parents would tell their children not to go there. Despite these warnings you had once ventured close to the village in the past and saw people much like those that lives in your town. From the hillside you watched from you saw nothing off putting. you couldn’t figure out why people were scared of them.

You remember getting lost that night, it was unnaturally cold, and you were freezing. you remember a woman with skin as pale as the snow taking you by the hand and leading you back to town. You remember when you turned to thank her only to find her gone. Ever since then you have waited for a chance to go back to the village but for years since then there was always someone within the town watching you, making sure you don’t leave again.

Now you were an adult, and those eyes were no longer on you, so you set off towards the village. The first thing you noticed when you got closer was that nothing had changed since you last saw it. The people were the same, the woodwork was the same, and even the ground had the same footprints and markings that you had seen all those years ago. It was like the entire village was lost in time.

You heard movement behind you and turned and saw a woman approaching you, but her head was tucked under her arm. Frightened you ran from the hill to the village and once you were inside you saw that the people you had seen were all different types of undead. Upon seeing you they quickly dropped what they were doing and began to approach you. You continued to run deeper into the village until you saw what appeared to be a castle. The doors were unlocked, you seemed to have a choice; stay and wait for the hoard or take your chances inside.
