You are kobold who lives in a village near a big forest. Since you were little you played with what you thought to be another kobold, but as you both grew older you noticed that your friend grew faster and larger than you. Her fur also became darker whereas yours became a light brown. As time passed she took on a moodier attitude, she still played with you but in the back of your mind she began to feel different than the girl you grey up with.

One day you go to the edge of the forest to meet up with your friend only to find her in a worse mood than usual. Despite this you go up to her in an attempt to cheer her up in normal kobold fashion. Upon seeing you she smiles but you can tell that it isn’t genuine. And then something strange happens, she says that she wants to suggest a game to play, normally you were the one that suggested the games, it almost seemed like your friend was too proud to consider actively coming up with something “childish” something that she called you often.

She suggested that you play hide and seek in the forest. You were not allowed to go in the forest when you were little, this is part of the reason why you assumed your friend was another kobold. You met her at the edge of the forest while she was chasing a rabbit. You tried to catch it for her but only managed to scare it away. At first she was mad but when she saw that her being mad made you sad she let up. You met each other at the edge of the forest every day since then.

When you followed her into the forest you noticed that her tail began to wag faster, a wagging tail was something natural for canine demi-humans, but she always kept her tail to a moderate pace, never really giving away her true emotions. On the other hand, you felt your tail slow down as you began to become nervous of the unfamiliar surroundings.

After a few more minutes of walking your friend stops and turns around. As she looks at you, you can see that her gaze is different, almost predatory. You don’t know why but you feel cold when she looks at you. She suggests a game of tag, something that you had played together a lot when you were younger, though in the recent years tag became more of you running from her as her size allowed her more speed. But you had no reason to think that any of this would be different from before, so you went along with it.

You started to run but you noticed that she wasn’t chasing you. After a few minutes of running, you start to get tired which was strange because usually you were caught by now. Thinking that something happened to her in the forest, you turn back to see if you can spot your friend. But as you do you’re suddenly forced to the ground, and you find yourself underneath her. Normally this is when she would let you up, but she doesn’t. She stays straddling your waist with her hands pressed down on the ground right next to your head as she stares down at you. You ask her what she’s doing, and she responds by moving a finger to your lips.

“Don’t say anything, puppy, I want to play a different type of game with you.”
