Why don’t scorecards just give a multiplier for the score differential calc instead of slope?

New to paying attention to my handicap so please let me know me if I’m missing something obvious, but if the calculation for score differential is:

(Score-course rating)*113/slope =handicap differential

Then why wouldn’t the scorecard give you the result for 113/slope?

For example, instead of showing 125 on a scorecard, just show .904 (113/125).

Having numbers relative to 1 also seems like a more intuitive way to understand course difficulty to me if you’re using it to judge how hard a course is.

Am I missing something?
