Hello everyone I’m looking for some help. The wife said I could use the tax return to get me a new set of irons. My budget is up to $800. I have drivers, woods and putter I’m happy with right now so just looking for irons.
About me:
I’m 5’8” Playing mainly in North Texas Occasional player 2-3 rounds a month including 9 hole course Currently using Titlest DTR irons that I got from a family friend used 20 years ago in high school When I’m not hitting straight I’m hitting a slice
Performance:
7 iron is standard club I use since I play lighted 9 hole course after kids go down Distance between 145-155 consistently. If I catch it right add 10 yards Up or down about 10 yards each club selection
Higher than average swing speed but not crazy
Like I said slice when not straight
Recent scoring
Par 28 - Lake Park 9 hole 32, 33, 36
Par 70 - Lake Park 18 hole 92, 97
Par 66 - Stewart Peninsula Double 9 88
Looking for recommendations on iron set to buy with listed budget. Never had a new or lightly used set before and don’t know where to start
Any help is greatly appreciated because I have no idea where to start
