TL;DR - guy lied saying my branded ball was his and got mad when I called him out.

Was playing a round today with a sleeve of Pro V1s that I got from a work scramble. They are labeled with my works logo on them and of course with them being a single sleeve, all were numbered the same. I had been playing the entire round with a single ball and it was one I finished the last round on. So going into 15, I’ve been playing this same ball for about 21 holes. Cover was still holding up so I was thinking, “fuck it I’ll take it as far as I can” we’ll on 15 a guy in my group hits a wayward shot left and I hit my 3 wood a little snappy left as well. I see it hit a tree and catch in the area but honestly it would have been better if it went through because there was a fairway for the next hole I would have been playing from. I see his ball down in the fairway and he claims my ball as his. I ask him about it because he hadn’t been playing Pro Vs all day, he’s a Bridgestone guy. I say, “how did you get that ball” he says he found it on the last hole, “he says I found it on the last hole”. I know there’s almost no chance he did because I live about 45min from my work and not many people come up here or play in the winter months. It’s my ball, my number, the the little nick in it I’ve been playing so I say, “you found a Titleist Pro V1 number 4 with (company name) logo when I’ve been playing them all day, haven’t lost one, and saw my ball go this way?” I can see he’s getting mad and he pipes up to my buddy we’re playing with, “wtf is this, your friend calling my a liar? That’s MY ball.” So I just said fuck it, it’s not worth it, played the actual ball he found on the last hole (still managed a par to his bogey playing from my better position ball) and went along my way. How would y’all have handled that?
