What a wild back nine. Out in 39 and feeling good. Par-birdie-par to start the turn and locked in. Bombed drive OB to start 13, lay my second drive up the left side of the fairway, long on a pitching wedge, stall out for a triple. Heat turned up moving into a par 5 launch the drive, 4 iron hybrid perfect sitting on the front edge in 2. 3 putt. Par. Onto Par 3 15. 100% pull a PW OB. Starting to unravel a little. Tee up the second, same club and it was perfect to within 2 feet. Routine tap in bogey. 3 greens in regulation and 7 putts to choke down the stretch bogey-par-par despite having a birdie try on all three (left 18 about 4 inches short). Tallied it up at the end and an 80. Still searching. Haven’t had this much fun golfing since back when I was trying to break 100 for the first time.
