I cut off about 2,5 inches between top and bottom. Reglued the hosel and stuck some of the same Epoxy up the tip for some extra stiffness.
The result is a short driver that I can hit as hard as I want and the thing goes straight as an arrow. Before that I would hit some slicy shots when I hit the driver hard. Whether it was because the longer shaft was more bendy than now or I didn’t shut the face completely- no idea.
Have not lost distance.
Every drive I hit today found the center of the face. Longest drive 290 yards with some help from the wind.
I could hit it as hard as I wanted.
Guys, cut off those drivers.
