I recently played in a society competition; lots of older guys, high handicaps, just a fun day and not so competitive.
In the clubhouse after, a few of them were congratulating someone on their first time breaking 100… But not in the way I’m accustomed to.
In their version of events, this guy had shot 128 but had a 36 handicap so had really shot a 92.
This blew my mind, and it turns out I was in a room full of people who had shot an 85 or a 94 but in reality had all hit the ball far more than 100 times that afternoon.
Is this just a rare case of delusion I’ve come across at a new society full of old guys making each other feel better, or have I been shooting 82s recently that should be down as 68s? 😅
