Buying replacement shafts

I have 2 wedges that I want to change the shafts to be like my iron shafts.

Do I just buy the same shaft and taper it like my other irons? There is an option to keep it parallel or taper it. What's the purpose of tapering it?

I use graphite shafts for my iron set, but the wedges have steel shafts so the weight is way off and my swing is inconsistent.

Is there anything else I need to buy besides the shaft and new grip?

Thanks golfers for the help!
