I'm not a very long hitter. If I hit a drive over 230 I crushed it. A 4 iron for me is like 170ish when I flush it. I am a 13 handicap but still sprinkle in a few high 90s and even shot a 100 this season. I have buddies who can crush the ball (average at least 260) but also shoot 90s pretty consistent. They always want to play the blues which if it's more than 6400 yards can get long for me and I'm then hitting 4 iron, hybrids, or woods into greens on long par 4s and long par 3s. Should they feel correct in playing the blue tees bc they can hit over 260 or should we all just be having fun playing the whites? When I suggest the whites they make fun of me and get pissy also even though they know I'm not a long hitter so I just suck it up and play the blues. I play with my grandpa and his friends and play green tees (5800 yards) with them as it's easier to all play the same tees, and I really don't mind as I have shot a couple high 70s that way. I have so much fun hitting driver and 9 iron or wedge into the green and reach a par 5 in 2 like my friends can do from the blues.
TLDR: If one person in the group isn't a long hitter, should you be kind and just play the whites instead of making them play the blues?
