I was on a golf trip with my boys last week/weekend, and we placed a number of bets. We used handicaps to determine which guy got strokes and how many. Simple enough.
I have a 25 handicap and shoot a bit under 100 regularly. I didn't lose a bet. Some others complained that since I used GHIN and they used 18 birdies for their handicap, their handicap was artificially lower.
I, of course, laughed to the bank as I dutifully entered all of my scores into GHIN and found it to be their problem that they were being cheap in their handicap tracking. It was a topic much of the weekend and wanted to see your guys' thoughts.
EDIT: I’ll mention that these dudes have handicaps that are 10-15 strokes lower than man. And I beat them outright. Granted I judge myself hard when playing solo, and will end rounds with a lot of penalties. So when it came time to play for money, maybe that was the gap?
