Hi. My 18 year old son has loved the game of golf since he has been 5. He doesn't play ' great' he's not trying to be a pro, he just loves the game and plays as often as he can.
As a recent HS graduate he has realized at least for now that a traditional college degree isn't his best plan and wants to pursue alternate ideas.
He has just been hired for a new PGA golf course/resort in our area as a new bottom of the totem pole greenscaper which he is thrilled with. Even with the 5 am start time. He will be doing the absolute grunt work and he is ecstatic.
To my question. What is the education or certificates etc needed for greenscaper greenskeeper? Though he doesn't want to do that college I still want to support him in other ways to gather education needed.
Any advice appreciated!
Lmfao that took a sharp turn into innuendo
Thatโs actually awesome. Good for him. Lots of growth potential there and perks. He could play the course for free, which would be killer if he gets a job at a private, exclusive course. Could work his way up to superintendent if he really puts in the effort. I wish I was that smart before I put myself into a deep debt hole getting a liberal arts degree ๐คฃ
Itโs growing as quickly as the sport tbh
