Post Body

I just picked up a new set of Mizuno JPX Hot Metal Pro irons which included 4i-PW. My previous iron set had 4i - AW and the AW was 50-degrees but in the slight cavity back style as the rest of the irons. Given that my new clubs only went through PW, I picked up a 50-degree forged blade wedge. My previous 50-degree AW was my 105 - 110 club. I have only played two rounds with the new 50-degree blade and only recorded the distance when I truly struck it perfectly and got 93 yards twice and 92 yards once.

Does a cast club with a slight cavity back really give that much more distance than a blade or do I need to just work on this new 50-degree wedge?
