What's the best course management tip you've ever heard?

Some of the most helpful ones that have impacted my game are:
Aim for the best miss - bunkers to the right of the green. Aim to the left of the green. Water at the front, club up.
Work back from the hole - I'm so confident from 100 yards out so I'd rather leave myself with a 100 yard approach as opposed to trying to bomb a driver and then doing a half shot from 50 yards out.
And one from Golf Sidekick; You're not good enough to get angry.

I know a scratch golfer who does this. He just doesn't like to do half swings. I personally love them, and hit them better than full swings.
