Disclaimer (so sorry for my friend weird loud noise, he thought it was a nice shot, and it wasnt at all) I completely topped it and it went 40 yards.
I used to be a 85-90 player when i was younger (i'm 30 now). I stopped golf for couple of seasons and now i want to go back at it. This was my first game of this season yesterday and OMG, i was TRASH. Cant even play with my driver, hooking and slicing 100% of my shots. With irons, im topping, hooking and even slicing also. I didnt even know it was possible to slice that much with irons. Only my short game is ''fine''.
I have an iron 4 in this video (I'm 6''4), i dont have the budget to add 1/2 or 1 inch to my irons set right now so i have to adapt for the moment.
I only watched the video after the round. what i can tell with my basic knowledge :
- i am going so freaking fast, i need to chill (even if going that fast, when i connect i hit bombs lol)
- i am going way to far back with my iron, way behind my head (like if i had a driver)
- my trajectory is to '' straight up'' and not on the side enough ? I just watched this video of sagutogolf and he basically tells what im saying, going up straight and not on the ''side''. At 00:58 he shows a bad swing when he was young and it looks like me now ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_2s89fLn8Y&ab_channel=SagutoGolf
feel free to add everything else i am doing wrong, i am not sensitive at all ! :D thank you so much !
