Poppy Ridge this morning. We were in the final group in a net tournament of just under 20. The conditions were good, the greens soft, receptive and rolling slow. While it was breezy, I knew I’d have to shoot my handicap or better to have a chance.

The first hole went too well, hitt the fairway, then a 7 iron into the green to about 8 feet and a birdie start. Then the PBFU on two. First ball is lost, 3 off the tee goes into a bunker. Then I hit it into another bunker. Then another bunker. Still in that bunker and finally get up and down for an 8.

After that l, I settled down and kept myself in it. Going into the final stretch, I gained some momentum. As I approach 18, I’m riding a 4 par run and got to -1 on the round.

Off the tee, I hit a solid drive right up the middle to the 150 marker. I take an extra club, a 3/4 swing and pull my approach shot into the left bunker, probably because a lake lines the right side of the green. My first bunker shot stays in the bunker. The second shot stumbles out of bunker into the rough. I’m able to get up and down for a double bogey 6.
