Help, 8 month golden chewing

I have an 8 month golden retriever that is chewing up the corner of the floor boards! I try to watch him constantly but sometimes I'm not home and my sister likes to let him out to hang out with her or iim home but I leave them together. She doesn't watch him as closely. How to I break this habit or what do I do?
