My name is Jay and I am 23 years old living with my fiancé who is 43. We were doing well for 2 years and things just started to awry after he proposed. Slight manipulation turned quickly into constant verbal assaults on my character and nonstop ridicule. I thought it was just a drinking problem but then he started to get extremely aggressive. Pushing and shoving me into things. Breaking things with my body. The cops were called but he would then accuse me of things. He would change his clothes and put on a button down shirt and tell them I was crazy. Out of control. And I look like that after he shoves me around for hours. This went on for a while as he eventually worked up to smacking me. He hasn’t hit me in a long time yet the verbal abuse is constant and tears at my self esteem. He does not want me to leave and when I ask him for help leaving he acts as if he won’t. He has mad me sleep outside more than once and would do it again If I stand up for myself or demand respect from him. I am an American in Canada. I have no friends or relatives here that I can run to. I also do not have a work permit because we are not yet married. Please. I do appreciate any and everyone who helps me out. Thank you!
