In 2016, a shared parenting agreement was reached between Me and my daughter's father after I experienced a mental breakdown and sought treatment. Since that time, I have been stable; I see a therapist regularly, as well as a psychiatrist for medication, and practice self care techniques.
On July 8, 2022, I arrived at the father's house to pick their daughter up for a regularly scheduled exchange. The father was saying I was "mentally unstable" and refused to turn her over for her scheduled time. The sheriff who arrived on the scene said my only recourse was to file for contempt of court, which I have done. He has refused to let me see my daughter, and I am only allowed approximately 10 minutes, in his presence, to talk to my daughter via Facebook messenger. I believe this is keeping her from sharing with what she's really feeling and experiencing through this separation.
My daughter has expressed on many occasions that she is afraid of her father and his alcoholism. He has spanked and pushed her in the past, called her "fat", and generally damaged her overall well-being and self esteem. At this point, the father has full control over my child's entire life, including her conversations with her mother. This fundraiser is for legal fees, so I can try and see my daughter before the court date in October. Anything you can donate, anything at all, is so very appreciated.
