Hello everybody,
My dog Zuzu is a retired research beagle that I adopted only 4 short years ago. She has had a lot of bad luck with health problems, which we have always been able to handle together. We have been through a lot together in the past couple of months. Most recently, she was diagnosed with transitional cell carcinoma. Because of that, we need to start radiation and chemotherapy to give her the best possible chance of living the longest, happiest end of life possible. Unfortunately, TCC is not curable but the 20 doses of radiation and 5 doses of chemotherapy gives the longest possible survival time of about 20 months (median). I have pet insurance for her but we have had a lot of veterinary bills over the past few months doing surgery for her gall bladder and then doing lots of tests to figure out why she continued to have appetite issues. My insurance is running out as there are maximums per year. I hate to ask for help but I need to look elsewhere to find a way to help pay for the $5000 out of pocket cost for radiation that I am facing. The total projected cost of treatment is around $8500 but the insurance will only help pay for $3400. I have scheduled her radiation for November 5th. I thank you for taking the time to look at Zuzu's campaign. Zuzu gave a lot of her life to research and contributing to science, and I think she deserves to live the fullest retirement possible. Any help is highly appreciated and will be 100% used for her treatment.
