Can Godot Load Models/Textures/Etc at Runtime?

I've done a bit of searching on the subject. Looks like someone asked a similar question: https://www.reddit.com/r/godot/comments/82j75i/load_models_at_runtime/

But the answer is deleted. Even with the answer recovered using a third party site, the answer isn't that useful because it references a lot of links that 404 now.

I found this code snippet for loading sounds: https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/17748#issuecomment-376320424

While that looks useful, I'm mainly looking for the ability to load artistic assets at runtime. Either from the network or from the disk.

My goal is to make something that has modding support.
