After seeing how people react to Android Linux or Android/Linux, I think it makes sense to drop the Linux from the name and just say GNU. I will run a poll about this and let you know the results.
The thing is, none of the people who insisted for years that it was OK to say Linux are insisting on this for Android; they simply call it Android and "know" it has Linux inside.
Is there really practical advantage to continuing to include Linux? Obviously, that's the one people know about and the presumption would be that they do not know what GNU is. I just figure it's a great time to start new, compare it to Android in that particular way, and introduce people to it without preconceptions or whatever.
Note: I apologize for posting right before going to sleep. I had a couple ideas for posts that just came to me and I wanted to get them out. I will respond during my lunch break "tomorrow."
Oh! Since this happens so often when I pose questions, especially free softwario subreddits: I do not need education, thanks!
