Post Body

Alright so I’m Running a 25 watt Kenwood TK-880 with a 6db gain Larsen antenna on the roof of my house, and an ss-12 Astron power supply. I’ve recently acquired a Kenwood TK-880H; the 40 watt model. My SS-12 says that it’s rated for an ICS (intermittent communication service) of 12 watts, the same as what the 880H peaks out at. Would I be able to use my current power supply, since it can bump up to 12 amps for when I’m transmitting? Or am I going to blow it up? I personally think it would work, but I’d be peaking the power supply out at its maximum and squeezing every last drop out of it, which might not be the best for the long term but I wanted to ask the community.
