I recently got my licence and I have been listening to clubs gathering and people checking in and stuff like that.

Last night I took a walk to the park near the water and got the most clear connection. The base operator has ask if anyone listening to state name, call sign and where transmitting from. Waited a few seconds and did just that but by the time I was done, someone else was talking. Did that 2 or 3 more times, then switched to another radio and same issue. Perhaps is the radio? Quansheng uv-k5 99 with nunu v 20.5 and baofeng mp31.
