On the flipside, this was from an era where the apes still had numbers on their side and would dominate any discussion outside of the cult headquarters.
They'd have posts on the frontpage of r/ all every other day with their usual schtick of feigned interactions:
"Wow Gamestop was a huge part of my childhood, I loved purchasing high quality video games at affordable prices. Does anyone know if purchasing GME would be a good investment for me?"
"Hello good sir Gamestop currently has 1.6 billion in cash and no debt and a chairman dedicated to fighting the known financial terrorist Ken Griffin, they are currently set to explode"
"I would love to invest but how can I make sure that my shares won't be lent out to malicious short sellers?"
"Hello I am a random totally unaffiliated person and let me sing the praises of Computershare"
"Wow that is incredible that not only are we under the stewardship of Sir Ryan Cohen but we also have the certainty that what we own will be ours in perpetuity what a fantastic financial decision I have made entirely on my own"
Anyone who took the time to pull the rug out under this charade was immediately brigaded. It was an exhausting time to be a redditor with any intellectual honesty.

Gamestop used to have a twitter community manager who was very open and would respond to most people.
He usually shied away from the cultists, with a few exceptions. He once said something like "We see you, we acknowledge you, but we don't interact with you", and then the bigger one was someone asked him about what the deal with the "oops MOASS" post was and he responded with something basically saying "Yeah that was a huge fuckup, someone got in a lot of trouble for that one".
Basically confirming what anyone with a brain already knew: A gamestop employee was fucking with the apes, either in good faith or bad faith.
