Hey wassup guys, so I shared a few months ago on my first and new 24 2500 gmc denial diesel and after driving it about to hit 2k miles (I know it’s not even close into breaking it in yet) just had a quick question about a few things:
When it comes to idling is it bad to leave the truck idling? I heard yes and no and wanted to hear what yall say. Normally with me I turn the truck on via remote start,in the morning as I’m getting ready to go to work and after 10 minutes I get in , turn the truck on and it still at 1000rpm so I wait patiently till it drops down to 500 rpm and then I drive off. Now after completing my day and I’m heading home, I drive normally not really a heavy footer on the pedal (UNLESS I need to pass a vehicle that’s drive slow on the fast lane 😑) but getting home I park the truck and let it idle for 2 minutes and then I shut it off. With that being said, is the way I’m doing it good? Or is there something I should change?
Also, that brings me another question why is it that every time I remote start the truck it always high idles like even if I drove the truck already and I get to my destination and 1 hour later I need to leave and I turn it on with the remote start it does it again even tho the truck has been warmed up and driven already? I’m still a bit of a rookie at this 😅
