Do I need a separate Brake controller on my 2020

Question, On my 2020 Sierra I have the "tow" button, not sure exactly what it does. I also have the 7 pin connector from the trailer to the truck for the lights. Will this setup operate the brakes on the trailer or do I need a separate brake controller? How do I know? Can a trailer shop install one or do I have to go to the dealer?

How about average cost if I do need one. I do not do a lot or towing but I have a 7K hydraulic dual axle trailer that I want to make sure I'm doing the right think when I have it out. Thanks all
