These are simple and easy to make!
Ingredients • 8 string cheese sticks • 2 large eggs • 1/2 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour • 1 cup gluten-free breadcrumbs • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese • 1 teaspoon garlic powder • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning • 1/4 teaspoon salt • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper • Oil for frying (e.g., vegetable or canola oil)
Instructions 1. Prepare the Cheese Sticks: • Unwrap the string cheese sticks and cut them in half, creating 16 shorter sticks. • Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 1 hour. 2. Set Up Breading Station: • In one shallow bowl, place the gluten-free flour. • In a second bowl, whisk the eggs. • In a third bowl, mix the gluten-free breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. 3. Bread the Cheese Sticks: • Remove the frozen cheese sticks from the freezer. • Roll each stick in the flour, then dip into the whisked eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Press gently to adhere the breadcrumbs. • For extra crunch, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating step. 4. Chill Again: • Place the breaded cheese sticks back onto the parchment-lined tray and freeze for another 30 minutes to prevent the cheese from melting too quickly during frying. 5. Fry the Cheese Sticks: • Heat about 1 inch of oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C). • Fry the cheese sticks in small batches for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown, turning occasionally. • Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. 6. Serve: • Serve warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dip.
Enjoy your crispy, gooey, gluten-free cheese sticks!
