Tips for sculpting
Post Body

I have been in the hot shop for about 2 years now, and am finally starting to get a good feeling for where my heat is and what steps I need to take in order to move it. I am trying to experiment a little more and wanted to attempt some solid sculpting, and don't know any skilled sculptor I can chat with, so here I am!

First, I was wondering is anyone has a good method for maintaining moil heat aside from torching it- also, what are some signs that I need to torch my moil, or that it's hot enough for now?

Second, i was hoping someone will confirm my suspicion that when sculpting in glass, you want a cold core and a hot surface area. I noticed that it is much more difficult to do anything before having a set shape as any touch of the tool pushes the main form off center. Which brings me to.....

My third question, how can I maintain a colder core while working on a hotter, more gooey outer layer?

Also, if anyone has any recommendations on good instructional youtubers that walk you through their sculpting process I would love to hear your input!
