Hi, my girlfriend and I are going to see Blink-182 in August at OVO Hydro. We live in Newcastle and wanted to keep spending little as possible since they cancelled last year and had to wait for rescheduling dates. Anyway we were thinking about driving up, go to the gig then drive back all in the same day/night since we paid for a hotel last year and this way would obviously save money. So my question is what would be the best solution for me to get into Glasgow as close as possible? Park outside the city and get a bus in and taxi back? Park somewhere in Glasgow that will let me out after midnight? Park somewhere and get a short train journey into the city?
I'm up for all suggestions (within reason... 😂) Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully help me solve my issue 😊🤟
When you get into the Glasgow area and join the M8 motorway you want to exit at junction 24 ( govan)! This is quite close to the venue! You’ll be in the Govan/ibrox area and as someone mentioned there’ll be plenty of parking in the Brand street area not just specifically brand st , the whole area is free parking ( only 2 mins away when you exit junction 24)! You’re on the other side of the river Clyde from the venue now but there are 2 footbridges at the BBC building that you can walk over and also another bridge further along called the ‘squinty’ that you can also walk over! The venue is right on the other side of the river so it isn’t a long walk! After the gig you are also in a prime spot for beating traffic and you’ll only have 2 mins back onto the M8 from there and on the road home

Cool mate and if you’re there early enough and looking for places to go or see get over the River onto the same side as the venue and check out the Partick/ Finnieston area which is all very close from there!
