Bar Manager Visa Inquiries
Post Body

Heya! I know the rules say there's other subreddits for these questions, but they're all pretty dusty at this point, and I'm gonna make this short and pointed.

I'm moving to Glasgow in the near future (from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) and need to find a Bar Manager position for a Skilled Worker visa (I am amply qualified for this).

Just a few quick questions about this: 1) Anyone know how common it is for (specifically restaurant/bar) employers to have the sponsorship license to hire overseas employees? 1a) Anyone have any inkling how common it is for bars to hire non-locally (i.e. people like me from across the pond)? 2) In terms of moving - any areas of the city that are a pain in the ass to reach later at night (after a bar shift in a more central area would be finished), and should be avoided?

Thanks a ton! If there's any other useful tips, tricks, or entertaining anecdotes, feel free to post away! I feel like I have the visa/immigration details firmly in hand. It is hard to know the prevalence of sponsorship holders and likelihood of hiring is all. If you'd like to discuss details privately, feel free to send me a message. I'm ready to start applying for work right now.
