Jumping the gun

Am I missing something? Matches just went out yesterday and many people haven't even retrieved their match yet(including my Santa). I signed up to be a rematch Santa and this morning I get an email with the name of the rematch I'm supposed to send to. That doesn't seem right....their original Santa has barely had time to retrieve their name yet....
