Questions on Jobs with a Geospatial Information Science degree?
Post Body

So I am going to be starting my GIS (Geospatial Information Science) this fall and wanted to ask a few questions. I know GIS is Geographic Information Systems but the degree ties into more areas and allows me to be more versatile when I choose a career (Remote Sensing, Forestry, etc.)

  1. How is the GIS market at the moment?
  2. Is Remote Sensing or Forestry something I should look into?
  3. (this might be a very dumb question) but does getting a GIS entry level job during college help with getting a better job after I graduate? They have some pop up every summer in the Detroit area and I plan on doing some next summer.
  4. What else should I know about getting into GIS that you wish you would have known?

Here is more information about the degree if you want to take a look, any comments will be helpful so don’t be scared to give information!
