An escaped inmate that murdered 4 children and their grandfather
We are an organization that utilizes man power and tracking dogs to catch escaped inmates and dangerous fugitives. My self appointed task is to bring us up to the 21st century (or at least the 20th) when it comes to utilizing technology to prevent the most horrible things from happening.
What is the most horrible thing? Well in recent history of this specific category would be Gonzalo Lopez and i dont care to go into details so just find some of them here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gonzalo_Lopez
I am specifically looking for an app that would allow a more efficient way to distribute information (GPS/Location, pictures/video, Details that may be updated/edited) and better coordinate the creation of a perimeter of staff. Ideally the command center/headquarters could view on a big screen a map detailed with the precise location of each person involved in the search event and they would have the ability to place markers and send specific teams to specific locations via the app as opposed to a series of phone calls that could take precious time.
The tracking dogs can be equipped with GPS but i do not know of any app that can do the above listed functions AND also create a track line (like “map my ride/run” or “GPS Tracks” apps for example) so that we may review every zig and zag and compare to wind direction and other contaminants to possibly assess errors.
The only recommendations i currently have are iTAK and DeployPro which are both great and would certainly help improve coordinative efforts between multiple agencies but these do not have every function we need.
Maybe the most important function is one that has an emergency alert button. In the event we find the inmate we should be able to just hit a button and all staff would be made aware of our location and be notified that we need immediately response. Deploy Pro has this but i do not believe iTAK does but i am uncertain.
The current process is for the team to read off their longitude and latitude over the 2-way radios/walkie talkies and everybody to independently jot down the coordinates and then type them in on google earth and then get to that spot as quickly as possible. I believe this leaves many opportunities for errors and delays and unnecessary risk that i would like to eliminate.
Do not comment negatively about any person or agency or organization, i dont have time for finger pointing. My goal is to learn from the past to better improve the odds and to work with absolutely anybody around the world that has any idea that can be utilized to potentially save every life.
Help me, please.
