I graduated Bachelors in Geospatial information Science at the age of 23. While I feel somewhat behind in my life since many of friends life out of their parents place, have a partner or are pregnant I realize that I’m in a good place.
But holy shit recruiters are fake as fuck. I understand it’s their job to search for people but one place showed me around the office and gave me the benefits and said they were 99.9 percent on board. A week later they wanted me to do a different title which I agreed. Then another week later wanted to work in a city 2 hours away. That company still has their position for GIS open from September.
Long story short I am working for a GIS/GPS Traveling Technician. I did some research even on this sub Reddit and found it has pros and cons.
Pros - outdoors - carp diem for hotels and company truck, gas and food - traveling to different cities (I’ve been to 25 countries and wouldn’t mind seeing the USA)
Cons - eh pay (18.50 an hour) - I have a feeling I’ll be overworked
With all this said, I need a job. I have good support with my parents so if I need to put my 2 weeks in at any point I am not defeated. I also wouldn’t mind saving money while not living with parents every second.
