Noob question: can adult parents also work and earn badges with their daughters?

Parents in my Daisy troop are just as excited as the girls to earn badges. I was asked if they are adult members could they also earn badges? I saw that there were adult specific badges like "cookie parent" but is there anything barring them from also earning the Shapes in Nature badge if they do it too? This in no way will get in the way of being girl led. The parents aren't the focus of the troop in anyway here.
