So I was in askreddit and the question came up..."What's a 10/10 show?" or whatever.
And I could think of a few I really liked, but I searched myself and was like yup, Girls is pretty much my favorite thing made for TV.
And I can't share that pretty much anywhere online. Not on reddit, not elsewhere. People hate the show, and people condemn certain uh, creators on the show. The show itself is hardly objectionable, there is way more morally corrupt shows out there that are not banned, are even praised. And let's face it, no Woody Allen movie, no Miramax produced film, no thing Stanley Kubrik or Roman Polanski ever made is so socially taboo to like.
Which boggles my mind, I mean this show was very popular and made a lot of money. I don't know what the demographics were of the people who watched it. I don't know where they're hiding out, maybe they're not on reddit.
But yeah, obviously, I really love the show Girls. I think it's brilliant, it was like, a once in a lifetime show for me. Like a lot of my own emotions and views on the world growing up finally had a platform and a voice. And it was so funny and astute. It makes me feel so happy for Lena Dunham and her success.
