B450m Gaming should I update to F60?

I have Ryzen 5 1600af, should I update my BIOS to F60 as my current version is F51.
Waiting for advices as one of my hardware geek friends told me not to or else it will lock me off my PC, as the F60 is intended for Higher CPU generations.
