I have a B650 Arous Elite AX rev 1.2 board, and I am trying to get dual channel to work on the board again.
It was working before just fine, but now it will no longer boot. The monitors just stay black and the only lights that are on in the PC are the RAM and GPU.
It will boot normally if I remove 2 sticks and just have a pair in the A2/B2 slots like the manual suggests.
While looking into this I found this on the gigabyte website:
- Speed dropping policy according to AMD processor specification (EXPO/XMP disabled):
- Drops down to DDR5-5600 when 2 DIMMs of the same channel are installed e.g., DDR5_A1 / _A2. Please adjust your setup according to the recommendation as above.
- Drops down to DDR5-3600 when 4 DIMMs are installed.
My question is, if I have to drop the speeds down to 3600 just to get dual channel to work is it worth using dual channel?
My current RAM is rated for 5200
And.....other than flashing back to an older version of bios, is there some other setting that I should check into?
I have a 9800x3d cpu, and it is currently working. I am hesitant to flash back since I don't know if the older version of bios supports this CPU
