A few years ago one of my childhood fantasies came true. I was driving in my neighborhood in IL and saw a headstock sticking out of a trash bin on the curb waiting for trash day. To my disbelief, it was a Gibson hollow-body electric. Unfortunately, the headstock is broken clean off. I didn't have time to deal with it then so I put it under the bed... until now!
From my research, I believe this is a 1962 ES-330TC serial number 71773. Other than the damaged headstock and some missing fret binding, it appears to be in good condition! There don't seem to be major chunks of wood missing and it actually fits pretty snuggly by itself. I'm hoping the angle of the break allows for a lot of surface area and better leverage under tension... it could be worse!
Can someone verify the model and advise on how feasible a repair would be? How would this affect its value?
