I remember my first time playing. I was interested because Coryxkenshin played it and his playthrough looked fun.
When I got the game in mid 2020, I forgot most of the game. When I was brought to the stables there were three horses. Black, White, and the one I knew I’d love, the greyish horse with a faded spotted black pattern. I loved that one because it liked the mix of colors since the others were solid.
Once Yuna asked for the name, three options were shown. Kage(shadow), Sora(light), and Nobu(trusted companion). I’ve already grown attached to the horse already so I chose Nobu, thinking I’d keep him forever. I was fucking wrong
When I escaped Shimura’s castle, I noticed in the cutscene that Nobu was slowing down due to the arrows in him. I was hoping Jin would save his horse in some way but that didn’t happened. Nobu fell using the last few seconds of his life and just laid there as he died. I’ve cried while playing games but this was just something else. Knowing the meaning of his name and the over 100 hours of having him by me made it hurt so much more. Like I really lost someone
