Ghostbusters is my favorite movie, and I really liked this new one. I took my parents to see it with me, I sat next to my Mom and while we were watching I was sure when the movie was over she would say it was really stupid. She told me it was really good. She did say, was it was a kids movie. I thought it was a bit scary and the scary moments were more startling than any in the first film. However, the jokes were cleaner in this one and had a friendlier less crass vibe... It's kinda a kids movie.
I loved the fan service moments I felt like they were not in your face and appropriately placed. There were a lot of if you know you know easter eggs, I liked that. The thing I didn't like, was the thing I thought I wouldn't like going in, and that was children as the Ghostbusters. I know it's all make believe and just a movie, but it's the continuation of my favorite movie so I can nitpick while I write this in my Ghostbusters sweater. I guess it's just hard to see anyone else bustin ghosts aside from Egon, Ray, Winston, and Pete. It was also hard to wrap my head around teens and pre teens operating unlicensed nuclear accelerators on their backs. However McKenna Grace was spectacular in her role and I don't want to minimize that.
There were a few other things that I wasn't crazy about, but they land in spoiler territory and I want to stay away from that for now. Anyways, to anyone who read this, thanks I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
